Ellen Aronson and Oz Barron present: Uncorked and Unfiltered: Songs of Change
As long as there have been human beings, there have been disagreements. And as long as there are disagreements, there are protests. And what’s a good protest, without a good protest song?
From “Johnny I hardly knew ye” - written in Ireland about the Kandyan Wars, which were fought in Sri Lanka between 1795 and 1818, to Boston’s own “Charlie on the MTA” - written to protest a fare increase on the subway, and continuing through today’s tunes, protest songs have a long, storied history.
Join Ellen and Oz Wednesday, May 28th from 6pm - 8pm for an evening of songs of change from a variety of perspectives.
This is NOT a ‘rally’ nor an event taking any political stance on anything, including fare increases. It’s an evening celebrating a style of music focused on content and message that have inspired so many legendary musicians. So, please leave your banners, buttons, and leaflets at home and enjoy a unique evening of music.
This is a privately organized event that is open to the public, with Moonstone Cellars’ wine available by the glass and bottle.
