Born and raised in Springfield, Missouri, GB Young discovered his love for music at the age of fourteen, when he first picked up a guitar and began to write songs. His sound blends the roots of Americana, the soul of the heartland, and the warmth of California’s coastal air—songs that feel honest, lived-in, and deeply human. After relocating to Hermosa Beach, California, GB quickly became a beloved voice in the South Bay’s live music scene, performing regularly at Project Barley (Redondo Beach, Torrance and Lomita), The Deck, House of Blues Anaheim, and other local venues. His emotionally resonant performances earned him a Best of Hermosa nomination for BEST ARTIST in 2024 and 2025 , with appearances at Fiesta Hermosa, Hermosa Beach Oktoberfest, and other public events that have cemented his place as one of the area’s most genuine musical storytellers.
