Wine Server Job Description

• At least 21 years of age

• Be warm, welcoming, and fun

• Tell our story

• Pour and describe our wine

• Sell wine, experiences, and Chateau reservations

• Sign up new club members

• Upgrade current members

• Check-in/out Chateau guests

• Lift 50 lbs. (a case of bubbly is heavy!)

• General wine knowledge (or fake it until you make it)

• Be comfortable using a point-of-sale system or willing to learn one

• Handle cash, credit card, gift card transactions

• Navigate stairs frequently

• Maintain a clean environment around the building

• Stock wine

• Clean and polish glassware

• Manage reservations

• Answer phone calls and emails

• Pack wine shipments

• Follow all ABC regulations pertaining to alcohol service

• Be prepared to complete RBS training and become certified

• Much of this may happen simultaneously, so multitasking skills are essential.

• Wine experience is not required, but personality is! We can educate about wine, but can’t teach you to be awesome. That’s on you!

  
  While it is unlikely that ALL of these things will happen in one day, it is possible! You should be comfortable learning a little bit about a lot of things until you get used to being around here. It’s a generally fun environment with great wine and even better regulars!
